OK, last review today. Same happened to me, but since I recently had to call the AA a couple of times (hence reading this site) I figured the value wasn't bad. However, I did challenge the renewal cost by calling, and it was explained that buying online you lose your 'member benefits' (i.e. start from new?). In my case, that meant dropping 9 years of continuous membership with some key cover and others bits included. Nevertheless, by calling they do make reduction on the renewal and I used that deduction to add my family on the membership. So the AA still got the money but I got more cover.
