Buildings and Contents Insurance - do not insure with Tesco unless you have a lot of patience and free time to do all the chasing/work yourself. After a house fire they initially "misfiled" us under the under £1000 damage dept; when a loss adjuster finally came out to look at damage it took 2wk to send in cleaners (we couldn't live in house so moved in with family); 4wk later still waiting for them to sign off for building work to start and reimburse out of pocket expenses. Customer Service has been a joke - unbelievably unhelpful; appointed Loss Adjusters (Cunningham Lindsey) ignore all emails and deal with telephone calls with empty reassurances and no action; Cleaning Company sent to deal with the smoke damage were shoddy and inexperienced and needed close supervision; and even drawing a blank with Tesco's own complaints process...the whole process has been a nightmare. Also discovered that Tesco Insurance is part of UK Insurance Partnerships, which in turn belongs to Direct Line, which ultimately is something to do with RBS...so never sure who you are dealing with, in which office, and leads me to suppose that perhaps this issue is not limited to Tesco Insurance alone, but to RBS Insurance and its various subsidiaries?
