seriously does not do what it says on the tin !! put generous covering on coving overnight, was dried out by morning , recovered it after two hrs it just softened the paint on top of artex stated to scrape it of was like chewing gum,the same as paint sripper, make sure you cover up because it sticks like !!! very messey reverted back to old fashioned elbow grease,re- plastered ceiling, job done ,as they say if it sounds to good to be true it usally is .nice colour though if still want to try it make sure you by small quantity first be cause i dont think you will be very impressed ? good luck.

I think you'll find that it says on the tin "to keep from drying out cover in a plastic film".

Sounds like you also had vinyl silk paint to remove prior to removing what X-Tex is designed to do (actually remove artex!!!)

What people tend to forget is that most artex or textured coatied ceilings have been coated many times with various types of emulsion, vinyl silks being the worst as they come off like melted plastic!

No job is the same and will vary greatly from home to home. Some will be easy and some will be a real nightmare, but there is nothing that I have found to beat this product. You are obviously scard of hard work and one of these people who expect miracles from products- Trust me there is no magic wand as far as DIY is concerned.
