Review for Ribble Valley Hog Roast : Lets start by saying the food was outstanding. We decided to have a less formal wedding meal by having a hog roast rather than a sit down meal. We still did the full table layout but we thought the less formal buffet style service of a hog roast would work better. The service may have been less formal but the food and experience did not disappoint. I think every guest commented on the pork and how they had never tasted anything as good before. And that's a good compliment coming from the many food lovers who attended our wedding. We've had hog roast before but nothing this good. The stuffing and apple sauce which accompanied it was also top notch. We also went for a selectiion of salads and new potatoes, these too were very well made and went perfectly with the hog. We went for most of the salads on offer and deserts to give everyone a variety. Let's just say people went back for first, seconds and thirds in some cases. The desserts were homemade quality rather than out of a packet and went down a storm. Although the food was the most important thing, the back drop of the hog cooking on a spit was a real crowd pleaser and made for some great photos. Last, but definitely not least there was Andrew and his assistant. Thoroughly nice guys and extremely friendly and professional. Andrew knew the minute the hog was at its best. Accomodating in every way, Andrew even managed to spare time to calm me down just before I left for the ceremony. There were even offers of help with the few last minute jobs we had to do. The price was very competitive but this did not reduce the quality in any way. You will not be disappointed, thank you again so much Andrew, Steve and Jane.
