Island Cruises, Island Escape Review

We have just returned from a 14 day holiday on the Island Escape, This is our 2nd cruise on this ship our last was in May 2008, so we knew what it was like. We have had two great cruises. We could not fault anything from arrival to departure. Our cabin steward Nelish couldn't do enough to look after us and our cabin was kept clean and tidy, as he came in at least twice every day to make sure everything was ok. The entertainment every night was top class and varied. The food as usual was first rate, very well prepared and presented excellently with the staff once again only too pleased to help wherever possible. The cre make everyone feel so welcome and can't do enough, always smiling and friendly. The excursions we went on (Monaco/Monte Carlo and Rome) were well worth the money and the courier was very informative pointing out all the relevant places of interest. The weather was first class, very hot every day and the sea was very calm for 13 of the days with only one night when we could feel a little movement. We are certainly going to book again next year and would recommend this friendly, relaxed ship for anyone who wants a less formal cruise. I understood from some of the other passengers that the Island Escape is having a refurb at the end of the year. Well done Thomson for taking on this lovely ship and crew.
