“Please NEVER apply for a PGCE at the open uni it has...”

Please NEVER apply for a PGCE at the open uni it has wasted a year of my life, waiting for them to find a school, they don't even try to find a school and the staff at the PGCE centre are the most useless people in the world.

I found the complete opposite, the staff were extremely helpful and my registration process took 4 months from submission of application to registration on course.
<br/>
<br/>Of course I did contact schools myself and found my own placement school a week before my OU interview, I can only wonder why you didn't approach any schools yourself, many schools would prefer the student to contact them and be proactive than recieve a call from a university.
