The ingredients are all diuretics/laxatives which means that the immediate "weight loss" is in fact water loss and not a genuine reduction of fat. Just because the ingredients are herbal doesn't mean that they don't have a negative effect on the body. Far from it, "natural" ingredients can have a powerful impact but not necessarily in the way you want it.
Bladderwack (fucus) is used to treat thyroid conditions and there still needs to be research done on what the impact will be on those with normal thyroid function. It may be that for those who were experiencing hair loss, had an immediate reaction with their thyroid function. If there's a family history of thyroid problems, I'd personally avoid taking Adios.
At the end of the day, the answer to gradual but permanent weight loss is: 1) a genuinely good diet (cut down on sugar, alcohol, sweet/savoury processed snack foods, and other empty sugar calories) 2) eat at the right sized portion (portion control a common problem that people often miss) 4) eat enough to provide you with 2000 calories/day (any less and you risk your body thinking you going through a famine - it goes into "starvation mode" which means it actually stores fat thinking it's a precious resource. This means that you're burning less fat and doing the opposite of what you want to achieve) and 4) work on fat burning & cardio exercise at a sensible and steady level 5)look at pilates or yoga or something similar to tone and sculpt and define muscles.
It's not a short term exercise, it is life-style changing and will always work better than a quick fix solution, however easy and tempting it seems.
