Having been to Barbados several times, we wanted a hotel that could cater for our 12 year old son. The Almond Casuarina seemed child-friendly, and having a teen club we decided to book an Ocean View room with Tropical Sky, Almond Resorts official booking agent. When we arrived at the hotel we were placed in a suite furthest from the Ocean as children are not allowed in the Ocean View rooms!! We were given different reasons for this, but it seems the balconies are too unsafe. We were finally moved to another room, with a promise of a refund. Tropical Sky have refunded the £9 a night difference between the room we booked and the room we had to take, plus a voucher for a future stay. No refund in recognition of the mis-selling/over-selling & the stress/inconvenience we experienced.

Child-friendly?? The main pool has a sign not allowing children under 16 - thankfully this ridiculous rule was ignored by all. Kitchen staff spoke of recent employee deaths possibly linked to lack of kitchen ventilation.

Restaurants were very average, & after enduring 4 nights dining in the hotel, we ate out at local restaurants for the remaining nights.
