My experience of BT TotalBroadband was a horrible one... I had problems with the internet connection right from the moment. I did not have the cheapest option... At some point I was calling every week. One particular day I was on the phone for over FOUR hours. In the end I was always told that the problem was external, that they needed to send someone to fix it, and later they would call me to tell me that the problem had finally been resolved. This happened almost EVERY week. I work from home, I was losing money. I called BT to terminate my contract. My problem had never been fully and efficiently resolved. This week I called BT (again) in the UK in order to terminate my contract. I could no longer stay with a company that every week, and for months now, tells me the problem is solved and then it is not. I was put on the phone with this gentleman, who did not identify himself, who behaved in an extremely thuggish way. He shouted at me saying I could not terminate the contract as BT had not refused to provide technical services. I could only say that yes they provided me 'technical' services EVERY week but did not resolve the problem, I could not really enjoy the internet or work, and this should be grounds to opt out without having to pay huge amounts of money. I got so upset with this man that I had to hang up the phone. I called again technical services and begged them, yes begged them to make a note releasing me from the contract on the grounds of not being able to resolve the problem from the technical point of view. Teachnical services, based in India and always very polite, did what they could and finally released me from the contract. This is by far the worse company I have had dealings with. Who compensates me for the money I lost?! For my time? For the appalling way I have been treated. This company is evil, incompetente and pure evil in the eway they treat their customers. Once they get you to sign the contrcat that's it...
