I'm not sure what unit the previous reviewer's got but I found the 9012's fan and compressor rumble are the quietest I know

(check out the roar of a Chinese cheapo to see what I mean).

If you have the wrong temp setting, door or window open the compressor will rumble longer in attempt to cool the perceived environment.

I have become paraplegic with MS so a remote controlled aircon is essential for my well-being.

I only had a remote control go down and had to wait for one to come from Germany.

With 7 years (of 4 to 5 months) continued use I have a great unit.
