I have flown air newzealand many times before. The only reason I fly with them as the luggage allowance is 46kg via los angeles. Compared to other airlines they do not give value for money mainly because their inflight service is below average.



The inflight entertainment system is old and it did not worked during my flight even after re-setting. There are no magazines, newspapers to read even after requesting I was offered 1 magazine from upper class. If you take kids there are no treats to them content to cope with the flight. There were long gaps between meals served. There was no choice of beverages and snacks between meal times except water.



My advise is if you have to fly air newzealand longhaul be prepared with their shortcomings.
