Like many others I was recently stranded in the USA due to the volcanic ash for a further 10 days. On return to the UK I called the AAtravel insurance helpline to be told I could no make a claim and was not covered either under delayed departure or catastrophe quite curtly by the call centre girl. The final blow being when I asked for a claim form to be sent to me to view and this was refused!
Do not under any circumstances use the AA for your travel insurance - to add to this on the front of the policy it states that they are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week - however, this is not the case you can only contact them 9am - 5pm GMT Monday to Friday!!
Extremely disappointed service from what I thought was a reputable company - clearly I was wrong!
