Guest's review of La Tasca

“I have been to other La Tasca restaurants before and...”

Written on: 26/04/2010

I have been to other La Tasca restaurants before and they were ok, but this one, just off the Strand in London was horrible.

First, we were given an awful table, even though the restaurant was half empty. Upon changing tables, we had to wait around 10 minutes for somebody to take our order. The food (starters were olives and bread) didn't come for another 15 minutes or so! The waiting times were absolutely ridiculous, even though it was half empty and it's a tapas restaurant, where the concept should be (obviously here it's not) that you get your food fast, so that you can go somewhere else for more tapas.

When our main tapas arrived (all but one -guess what, we had to wait for that one another 10 min or so), two of them were ok, but the other two were horrible (paella -how dare them call that a paella!!! That didn't even taste like paella) and tortilla (dry, saltless and tasted like cardboard). ) Do not order those tapas if you ever visit this place.

Lastly, it took another good 15 minutes to get the bill. So about 2 hours to get tasteless food in there. Never again!
