“Both my brother and I had 880's during our pre-teen...”

Both my brother and I had 880's during our pre-teen and early teanage years. Neither one of us were into hunting but just enjoyed the thrill of shooting. Our Dad would take us to the rock quarry on Redstone Arsenal to shoot. We would walk around the area collecting all the aluminum cans and glass bottles (typically beer)to use as targets, the glass bottles were the best. At the time I believe the place was a popular area for the soldiers to kick back, relax and drink their suds. Our Dad would throw the the beer cans out into the water and my brother and I would open fire. As we shot the cans they would slowly start to sink. The last one to hit the can before it sank won bragging rights. Beer bottles went much further out into the water and were a bit more challenging. More times than not, the first one to hit it square sank the bottle. It's been many many years since that time, I no longer have that 880 or my Dad. What great memories though.
