Good Points

Running costs compared to other performance cars of the same category , the power , retro looks , and power sliding

Bad Points

The handling in the wet is dangerous but can be sorted with a little cash , panel costs . Nothing much else !!

General Comments

The Ford Capri 2.8 injection is the car you always promised yourself.
The legend lives on .
These cars are now going up in value. They can be insured under classic policies for pennies and there is no shortage of parts as most of the bits were used in other Fords. The panels are a pest to find but that is the only real draw back. You want an affordable cheap performance car that is fun to drive and cheap that will return you money when you sell it, sound too much of a dream then....
You just found it.

i must agree with this review, ive got a 280 turbo capri the running costs are low and the performance is shattering! as for the handling it could easily be on par with my old lotus esprit..just add dropped uprated suspension, polly bushes and an axle location kit, and you have supercar for silly money.....

i own an 82 four speed 2.8i and i got too say it was the worse car i ever had. brakes are poor handling was v.poor in the wet adn it was overated. i now got a rover vitesse turbo(200 bhp) a 2.8 i cant catch it in any gear and will blow a 2.8 of on top

Would have to agree with the review. I drive an '87 2.8 Special which is totally original except for the two big bore exhausts - these make the V6 sound fantastic. It truely is a special car. Turns heads wherever I go! Takes skill to drive in the wet, which puts some people (above) off. I have a fuel cat fitted to mine which helps with the fuel economy as well as allowing the engine to run on pure unleaded. All in all a great car.
