“I was travelling with my girlfriend to Koh Samui via...”

I was travelling with my girlfriend to Koh Samui via Bangkok for a 2 week break. We did not make any reservations at all before we got there. This is something I usually never do, but my brother and a very good friend told me that you can always find accomodation one way or another. When we arrived on Samui, we spent the first 2 nights in Chaweng, which is the north of Samui and where the nightlife is buzzing. To be frank, my girlfriend and I were really fed up after 1 day, so we decided to find something far more relaxing. Bangkok had been hectic enough and we did not want feel like we were in Benidorm on holiday. On the internet we found a lovely, secluded hotel, called Elements Boutique Resort & Spa. I gave them a call and was able to get a very fair rate for what they were offering. So we decided to book for 1 week and then decide afterwards if we were going to move on. The resort is magnificent. It has its own bay and is located right by the beach. We booked ourselves into a Sea View flat, which was very nice indeed. However we saw that the bungalows were even better because they had their own private pool and also jacuzzi, but unfortunately they were fully booked during our stay. It goes to say that the service was spot on, and the restaurant was great too. Fantastic food, great white wines and not expensive at all. Of course my girlfriend was really enjoying the Spa literally every day and apparently it is one of the best on the Island. It was so peaceful and relaxing the whole time and we were very glad to have made this choice. We even got to meet the managers, Stephen and Peter, who not only showed us around personally, but they pointed out what we could do if ever we wanted to do something. My girlfriend went snorkling whilst I tried to do some fishing, because I hate swimming the sea. Other than that we only went for a single day trip to see the waterfalls and the Big Buddhas. Again the resort was everything and even more than what we had hoped for. I highly recommend it and would book directly with the hotel, so that they know what your needs are and what you like. I say this because we had a bunch of DVDs waiting for us in our room with some chilled wine when we arrived!!! In total we stayed 11 nights before we headed back to Bangkok where we stayed an additional 2 nights near Pat Pong, before heading back home.
