Good Points

The size of the 8290 is so nice. It is big enough, i will not lose it but it never makes me feel like my pants are falling or there is a noticable bulge in my pocket. VoiceStream's coverage isn't great but whenever I am in town my reception is great. Its like a landline.


Bad Points

I have had the phone for almost 8 months now and the screen now flickers and is off sometimes. The pressure of the cover on the screen module itself somehow effects it and doesn't display. So be careful, and treat the phone rather gently, lest you'll have a bad screen too. I am going to have the warranty replace it though. That's the good point.


General Comments

I love this Nokia 8290 mobile phone, I am now spoiled and will never be able to have a large phone again. I recommend it to anyone. Just make sure you have a good coverage area. Try having them allow you to 'try it out' for three days or so, and then come back and make your decision whether to keep the service or not. VoiceStream also gave me the phone at no extra cost.
