In January 2009 I went to Guatemala and volunteered with the Phoenix projects run by GVI. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE. I built stoves for families with children in the GVI school or in the local school on GVI scholarships. In the three weeks I built 4 stoves and on my days off helped out in the GVI school on sports day. I built every stove with love, sweat and hard work. I cherished the local mason who guided me. I admired all the families I built these stoves for and I will always be grateful to those who made my experience in Guatemala what it was! Antigua will always have a place in my heart!
