Hey, I went to Fiji with Greenforce. It also seemed like the so called science staff did not know what they were doing. Most of the training was at Secondary School level. I understand that some volunteers had no past experience, but this was a joke. I also had to correct the staff at times on the basic fish id's. I did intend to go to Fiji to learn marine biology but came out being a good tour guide. I hope the next group after me did not have the same lectures. However Fiji was great and I met new friends for life.
I hear that GVI are good on the science. The even have a number of papers in their name.

I found this review not helpful because it sounds like someone from GVI posted it. Greenforce recently won a Green Tourism Award for the marine conservation work they do in the Bahamas and Fiji in which they work with both the Bahamas National Trust and UNESCO.
