Had the car for 3 Years and done 25,000 km. Good quality 2000 cc vehicle with automatic 4 wheel drive so that it detects when it needs to engage. Despite that there are extra gear options which we have used to get out of extreme snow. For city driving it's good that the brake lights are set up high and it has an extra central back screen brake light. Excellent braking especially on snow/ice. I live in Austria so the all round tyres are rugged enough that I don't have to buy winter tyres. Automatic drives very well in town and is excellent when we go to skiing. We drove up one winding road on a snowy mountain and left other stranded motorists gaping in awe. Comfortable (I always fall asleep as a passenger on long journeys) and loads of space, with boot panel doubling as picnic table with large hidey hole underneath. Good air conditioning for our extremely hot summers and freezing winters and screens clear very quickly. Excellent on corners. Good dealer service.
Bad Points
Small niggles really. Fuel consumption does not come up to that promised in the manual despite Honda Austria fitting new "lamellen" in year one. Wind noise on the autobahn, but to be expected from a car of these dimensions. Dashboard could do with improvement. LCD in the miniature clock unreadable in daylight and can't detect if tiny green lamp on AC is on or off without cupping hand around it. I personally don't like the automatic gear shift on the steering column as I would prefer it in the centre console, but my hubby loves it!
General Comments
Before choosing the Honda CR-V 4x4 offroader, I looked at Landrover Freelander, Suzuki Vitara, Toyota Rav 4
Next car we are thinking about the Nissan X-Trail
