Please do not buy a Sebo. My friend and I bought one at the same time.We thought being German it would be very efficient and well made. I had a dyson for 12 years and was very happy with it. I wish I had never bought a Sebo automatic x4. Everytime I use the hose attachment the machine falls over as it is very unstable ,not good with small children around. You have to hold on the machine with one had whilst trying to vacuum upholstery with the other it doesnt work. It cannot vacuum any animal hair off the carpet. I have had to invest in a rubber broom which I use daily to scrape the carpet. The sebo cannot hoover up fluff from a synthetic carpet and struggles on a wool carpet although marginally better. The light never comes on to let you know that the bag needs changing. Although it hasnt fallen apart will now be going back to Dyson so that I can have a vacuum that actually vacuums.
