“Over 50mpg in real-world conditions. A great car...”

Over 50mpg in real-world conditions. A great car which, in countries with high fuel prices, makes petrol cars look rather silly. It won't rev like a petrol so can't be used as a true sports car but it is an a mazing daily driver- swift, frugal, safe and practical. The 6-speed 'box has a good feel and the revised damper rates, while still a little wallowy, transforms the feel of the car from the lower-end fourth generation Golfs.

Only fault I found with the car is the brakes were inadequate if pressing on should have been upsized instead of using the same as with the car's less powerful bretheren. Overall though a fantastic car for either family use or as a warm hatch.
