Good Points

This rifle is a very smooth shooter right out of the box untuned. Finish is nice and clean. Sights are very user friendly. Very accurate with Hobby pellets or Daisy max speeds at 30 meters. Very good value for the money.

Bad Points

Wood stock might be a little too long for some shooters.

General Comments

I was surprised by the smoothness of the firing cycle on this RWS 94 .22 air rifle compared to some other springers that I own. ie RWS 48, B 22.and a B 18 all 22 cal. The velocity is just over 800 fps with hobby pellets just behind the model 48. These were confirmed with an F1 chrony. At 10 meters with open sights I got 1/2 in groups. I believe a scope sight would significantly reduce group size. The fit and finish is nice for the money. Only negative is the stock could be a little shorter for smaler shooters.

I must agree with this review. This is a very good gun for the price. The stock is a little long but my 10 year old son can handle it pretty well. It has good knock-down power. We have taken many birds-squirrels-rabbits.

I am looking for a nice hunting rifle in the .22 cal, but I'm only 14 so my money is limited how much does this model 94 in the .22 cal cost

  • chaddster. on 19th Dec 2002

The mod 94 is a great gun, good power and very accurate. I got mine at Air Gun Express for around 180.00 Sometime's they have demos cheaper.

  • Derek. on 21st Dec 2002

Yeah I like the 94 model, i was considering getting a Beeman GS950 but it only went 765fps and cost more. So all round the RWS is a better deal. Who do you think is better quality RWS or Beeman

  • chaddster. on 22nd Dec 2002

Derek- Both guns are made down south of the border. I have had 2 guns from spain RWS & Beeman . The RWS 94 is a better shooter all around. Now if they were both made in Germany that would be a tough choice. I think you would like the 94 real well. It is so easy to cock & is very accurate. The recoil is low so any decent scope will work fine on it. I put a 40 dollar Bushnell 4x12x40 on it -works great!!

Chad- sorry I keep pestering you. I had to ask a few LITTLE questions. I was thinking about putting a bi-pod on it. What is your thought on that. I'm also so happy because I went to Walmart yesterday and they carry a Powerline 3-9X32 scope (which is the power and size I was looking for) I looked on the back and it was made specifically for springers and it was only $30 and came with rings :) Also can this consistently kill crows at 20-25 yds. Oh yeahh I was shopping around and found a mod 94 at airgunstore.com for $163. Thank you, I really appreiciate all your help. P.S. Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS

  • chaddster. on 27th Dec 2002

Derik- I can't really say much about a bipod. I do most of my shooting from a picnic table with a home-made rest. The other times I'm standing or leaning against a tree or fence post. If you put one on it let me know how you like it. The price you got on the gun is the best I've heard of. I don't see how you could go wrong. Good Luck Chaddster

  • chaddster. on 27th Dec 2002

Derek- missed the crow question sorry. I think a crow at 25-30 yards would be easy with this .22 cal. I have never got a shot at one of those black devils but I'm always looking for one. If you have never shot a .22 cal before you will be in for a suprise, mine has sure impressed me. I have taken a squirrel at 56 yards with a RWS-superpoint pellet, got him right behind the ear!! I don't recommend shooting at this distance but I just had to try once. Chaddster

  • Derek. on 29th Dec 2002

Chad- thx for all your help. Ill probaly get the bi-pod on because like to prone shoot. I should have it pretty soon within a couple months. As for the crows I have tried to shoot them with my crossman 2289G in 22 cal. but can never get into MY confident range of about 15 yds with it. Well ill tell you when I get it then ill write a reveiw and you can check out my results. Thanks again for your help.

  • Derek. on 30th Dec 2002

Hey sorry but I had to ask you 2 more quetions. 1 What distance would sight it in for. I'll be using it for hunting stuff in trees and shooting wide open. 2 Why did you choose the 22 cal why not the 177, 20 or 25 calibers. Thanks Derek

  • Derek. on 30th Dec 2002

I am really sorry I keep forgetting to ask you these questions. How long can a springer be cocked like say I already had it loaded it up and I was going in for something, say like 30 minutes could it stay cocked

  • chaddster. on 4th Jan 2003

Derek- If you would e-mail at chadd@mo-net.com that way I can tell you more about this air rifle & we can stay in contact better and quicker. Talk at you soon. Chaddster

I was reading the review, I have a 94 and it shoots about 736 with 14.3 grain Benjamin sheridan pellets. My comment has to do with the issue of where the rifle was manufactured. Isn't Spain in Europe instead of south of the border? I thought Mexico was south of the US border. Maybe I'm wrong but last time I looked at one of those maps that my 4th grader has it said Mexico below Texas? Just kidding, I'm sure everyone knows where Spain is! lol

I just bought a Benjamin Sheridan 397 and a Powerline 3-9x32 scope. I love the gun but haven't a clue how to adjust the scope (i.e. elevation and windage)...I am not stupid, well, maybe I am, but which knob adjusts which function? Do you use the original rifle sight to match the crosshairs on the powerline? If you're shooting too low do you screw the adjustment knobs to the right or the left to correct the aim? In other words, how do you sight in a Benjamin Sheridan 397 with a Powerline 3-9x32 scope, from scratch? This is the first rifle I have ever owned, so......can you help me? Mucho thanks, chris..... you can reach me at ponybronco2@aol.com or 512-263-0409.......collect if you want.

Does anyone know where i can get one of these model 94s in the .22 cal version for a reasonable price? All i can seem to find is people charging like 230 for them. Thanks, you can email me: mtw4985@aol.com.

I purchased a Model 94 combo a few days ago and I am still checking it out. For the most part, it has a lot of power and is very accurate with fixed sites. I can shoot pecans off my back yard tree at 20 yards in a stiff wind and they look like exploding mellons. The more you shoot it, the more you want to shoot it. It's a great gun. However, there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the scope. I got 1-hole groups at 15 yards but at 30, it was all over the page and no amount of adjusting corrected it. Maybe I got a bad scope with the gun but I think it should be shooting a lot better than that.

I have just purchased a RWS 94 .22cal from DNR Sports for $170.00 delivered and it only took 1 week to arrive. I am very impressed with the quality of the rifle especially the stock which is beautiful. It has a smooth and light cocking action for all its power and very accurate with iron sights. I purchased a Powerline 3-9x32 scope and rings from Walmart for about $30.00 but cannot seem to prevent the scope from moving under recoil. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • chadwheat on 7th Nov 2003

Use locktight on the screws and the scope won't move.

So would this be a better buy then a gamo shadow 1000 or hunter 440? and is it available at walmart? Thank you e-mail me at pyroman13@sbcglobal.net

  • msl guy on 27th Aug 2007

I've owned and shot both the Gamo and the M94. The Gamo is an ok weapon but for all around "refined" cocking, safety and shooting with minimum recoil, you can't beat the M94. Made in Spain to RWS strict standards, this one is destined to become a classic if not already. I wish my Browning 30-06 had as nice a trigger as the M94. Get one if you can still find one available that is. Good luck.
