Santas Magical Kingdom at The Hop Farm, Kent Review

Have just spent a thoroughly enjoyable day at the new Winter Wonderland at The Hop Farm near Paddock Wood in Kent. We had considered taking our twin 2.5 year olds to Lapland UK which is even closer to us but at more than 3 times the price, decided against it. The Hop Farm tickets are £25 per person and great value. The day didn't look too good with 80+mph winds and torrential downpours but we had booked ahead so went anyway. Almost all of the attractions are under cover so weather not really a problem. Some outdoor displays were not in operation due to the conditions and the team apologised for this. The main event is an interactive walk through Santa's Kingdom with lots of very enthusiastic and friendly Elves to guide you. There are buttons to press (at small child height - saves back ache)and even real reindeer! The displays reminded me of Disney's - It's a small World attraction but without the music. You are treated to an amusing puppet show before going through to the doors to santa's castle where you meet the man himself in his lounge and the children are given toys - my son had a remote control car (fragile but his new faviourite toy) and my daughter got a pink cuddly toy. The Elves brief Santa well before you go in. The bonus for us was a circus show which i hadn't really thought about before hand but contained some spectacular stunts and acts including BMX tricks and high wire acts. The circus show lasted nearly an hour so good value. It was really quiet when we went due to the weather so can't say if it would be so relaxing and personalised when it gets really busy but we enjoyed 5 hours there and could have stayed much longer if the weather was better. Kids loved it so will be back again next year for sure
