More Than car insurance sent a letter in advance of my renewal date in early November and my wife paid in adavnce by some two weeks basically within a couple of days within receipt of their notification letter.We thought (wrongly apparently)that we had paid for our cover. In early November (nearly 2 weeks after having paid) we received a letter from More Than Car Insurance stating they had indeed received our money BUT they had cancelled our policy as we had n't paid by the 24th October!!!We eventually made contact with the accounts dept. in India (Calcutta I believe)....and they insisted that they were correct ....we could n't believe it!!! They stated that we should read the SMALL PRINT which apparently states we should pay within 3 weeks of the renewal date (the fact that we had seem to initially by-pass them . What a con!!! They ..in my opinion were trying it on to get money from us and not reimburse us on a technicality ... a technicality WE could prove was not accurate.They eventually agreed to reinstate the policy but my confidence in them is totally shot!!! I will never deal with them again. I will look for a totally reputable motor insurance company and pay extra for it if need be! My question is ,,,does such a company exist??? I am 52 years of age and I have never made a claim since I started driving when I was 17 and in that time I have heard many a horror story about motor insurance companies.
