I took out car insurance for both me and partner with ecarinsurance.com as they were the only company I could find that would give temporary car insurance to cover us while we took delivery of a new car. I have never had to deal with such a horrible company. The first correspondance that I got demanded I send my V5 in within 7 days or my insurance would be cancelled. I received two threatening letters dated the same date and a threatening email over this - I provided what they requested and then the threatening letters and emails started over my license so I provided this.... then the strangest part I got pulled over by the Police for driving without insurance, never felt like such a criminal in my life. Turns out that despite being provided with the V5 for my car they had managed to record the registration down wrong. After advising them of what had happened Leandra Kent 'Policy Investigator' rang me to clarify the reg of my vehicle which was wrong and I referred her to all my correspondance I had sent directly to her which included my V5. She referred to said correspopndance and documents and was presented with what had been there all along, the correct reg. Despite being a policy investigator with all the information in front of her, until this time she hadnt noticed that they were using the wrong reg... apology? dont be daft! que threats over my NCD. I emailed for help and explained that despite three seperate requests to my previous insurers i still hadnt received my no claims proof. I received an email in response to this which stated 'I will send you a letter which will give you 7 days to provide your NCD proof if we havent received it you will be sent another letter giving you 7 days to send it, if we do not receive it after this your insurance will be cancelled - They couldnt even do this, I got a seven day cancellation letter. Despite the fact they could have rung my previous insurers but no that would be too simple. If you want to be threatened with insurance cancellation and drive around uninsured then go with this company. I have never been treated as badly or been left feeling so disgusted in my life. Only recorded as one star as I cant put zero - believe me, Ive tried!!
