I called to ask when I should cancel my contract so it tied in with the end of the contract year. I was asked why I wanted to cancel, so I told them because the signal is RUBBISH. She asked where I had problems with the signal, I told her EVERYWHERE, at my house, in the street, on the bus etc. The woman asked me to hold, I thought she was cancelling my contract, NO, she came back on the line after a few minutes and told me that she'd just done a signal check and there's nothing wrong with the signal in my area!!! I told her that there most definately was and that as I'd previously stated it was everywhere that I had problems, not just at my home address. She told me it must be my phone and as a valued customer I could get a really good upgrade. I clearly told her I am not at all interested in upgrading, I simply wanted to know when I needed to cancel by. She told me the 25th Oct. She then continued to rant on offering me all sorts of upgrades. She also kept asking what company I would be moving to, I told her I didn't wish to disclose this information. She kept talking. I had to cut her off, just to get off the phone as I'd been on it 20mins already.
I called back on 25th Oct as told to, thinking that the previous conversation would have been noted and all I would have to do is confirm that I still wanted to cancel. NO I had to repeat everything. The woman did exactly the same as the previous, so I quickly cut in saying "I don't want you to check my signal coverage and I'm not going to tell you who I'm considering moving to and I DON'T want you to offer me any upgrades, I'm not interested in anything, I just want to cancel my contract". She put me on hold while she sorted out cancelling for me. When she came back on the line, she told me that my cancellation process had begun and while we were waiting could she just tell about some offers...she began telling me! I had to be more blunt and more forceful (which I am not comfortable doing) otherwise I would never had got off the phone. This phone call took 17 mins.....just to cancel a contract!
Although the staff were polite, even when faced with my bluntness, they are obviously trained to push and not listen!
3's signal is useless.
