I fly every week on various airlines on the West Coast so I am familiar with air travel. I say this for a reason: I booked my flight from Dallas to Seattle with my wife and one kid a month in advance. We had booked 3 seats in a row for the sake of our 4 year old. On arrival to the airport, AA had changed the seats so that now we were sitting separately. The rep at the Dallas airport at check-in guided me to the e-ticket counter. I told him I wanted to talk to the the agent at the counter as my seat needed to be reassigned. His reply: " are you trying to tell me how the system works?" My reply: Don't give me that BS I travel every week of the month, I need to see why my seat assignment is changed. Then we went to the the end of the terminal where even a worse customer agent told me that my 1 bag was over weight. Paid $50 more for 10 Lb overweight even though 3 people traveling, felt like back in third world. Carried the luggage to the other side for "Inspection". The agent kept asking if there were any weapons. Almost felt like saying: no I moved them to carry on". The flight was fine except that no entertainment for the 4.5 hours flight except for $10 bad sandwich and complimentary water and coke. I use to fly AA in the 90's. they were better and now they seem like a communist airlines. I wonder why they are in financial trouble with such excellent customer service! I will never fly them again if I can avoid: Poor customer service, poor logistics regarding checking in, and poor overall experience. Avoid them if you can.
