Telewest used to be great - well worth the premium that was charged. Since the NTL merger and Virgin took over the service has deteriorated. In terms of

Speed - its now throttled with a download limit triggering the throttling

Cust Service- technical support know considerably less than I do (oh dear!)

Cust Service- the awful pay to report a problem is gone but don't think that its much of an improvement as they'll try and get you to repeat the rebooting the modem that you heard about 100 times waiting for someone to pick up and then refuse or be too incompetent to actually check for a problem in your area. Be very insistent they raise a call (get the persons name and a reference number for the issue).

Future - the 50GB service isn't worth it, and won't be worth it as you will be throttled if you try and utilise it! Paying a premium is pointless now.

Privacy- they already intercept your web browsing (you only find out if you mis-spell a website and ONLY then can you opt out). So you are paying them to invade your privacy and then sell that information to someone else. If the post office opened the envelopes they were delivering checked what was in it and sold the data to someone else there'd be riots... these guys get up to it every second of every day.

Reliability - getting worse - had it down for about a week recently with 3days before anyone in the call centre admitted that there was a problem

Support - The home website used to be about the service you were paying for and supporting you. Now its about celebrity gossip "news" with the (inaccurate)service status tucked away on another page linked from the main page.

I am thinking of moving house or I would have moved ISP already
