I am a nervous flier so it is very important for me to feel comfortable and safe when I fly. Unfortunately Jet2 fulfilled neither of these basic requirements. Outbound...staff unfriendly and inefficient...boarding took so long we missed our take off slot. The plane was clearly ancient and made horrific noises throughout. The landing was very rough and I had little confidence in the pilots. Return...delayed by two hrs due to 'technical issues' with no explanation and little apology. Plane seemed slightly less shoddy but was still obviously a hand me down. We hit horrific clear air turbulence with no reassurance from the cabin crew, despite a lot of people's audible concern. Once again the landing was questionably uncomfortable and the pilot seemed to be racing the plane back to the stand. Once we came to a stop we had to endure a wait of at least half an hour before steps were brought, and the cabin crew seemed more intent on blaming their ground staff or lying about how much longer it would take ("just a few moments"). All in all I was left extremely shaken by my experience with this airline, and can't even justify this by the fact that it's a budget airline as the fare was very expensive. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!

    Trust me I'll avoid. Did you know that the average fleet age of Jet2's aeroplanes is neary 22 years old, It doesn't surprise me it made a horrific noise, on my Jet2 flight the plane rattled constantly. The average age of Bmibaby planes are only 13 years old, there are just over 3 years on EasyJet and even less than 3 years old on Ryanair. If you decide to go to Lanzarote again, I would suggest Ryanair from Liverpool or East Midlands (which ever is more convenient), not Jet2 from Manchester!
