We picked up our hire car at Heathrow airport, paid extra for meet and greet and was met off our flight and taken to car straight away. Car went okay, no problems with it at all.
We returned it to the Hilton hotel car park and rang Car-Hire-UK.com to say we had dropped car off and took keys to the security man in the booth.
We took photos of the whole car and the dash with mileage, and fuel tank showing full, in case of a dispute.
Now back in NZ, heard nothing from company and like everyone else get no replies from emails, phone calls and live chat does not connect to anyone. So have now taken it up with the credit card company.
Fingers crossed we get our 560 pounds back eventually.
DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USING THIS COMPANY

    To LadyFisher in Rotorua.
    Like you, we were unknowingly taken for 670 pounds vehicle deposit and fuel deposit. Following a spate of phone calls and emails, we managed to obtain a 600 pound refund but they have kept the 70 fuel deposit, claiming the tank was empty. They even produced a return document, obviously fake because it was printed out 2 months after the car was returned and filled out on the day they scanned and emailed it as "proof" the car was returned with an empty fuel tank.
    We contacted the following group at Bromley who are a Council Traders watchdog, investigating rogue traders and scams in the area.

    They appear to have an ongoing investigation into Car Hire UK and it would be advisable to any who read this post and have been stung by Car Hire UK to contact them with the details of your loss. They might not be able to get your money back but every bit helps to get this company into trouble. Do not contact the Bromley Police, as suggested in other forums. They deal with criminal matters, not civil matters.
