We stayed for 4 nights mid week during Bluestones Halloween week. Our accommodation was exactly as described, a spacious two bedroom cabin (Caldey) with views over woodland to the rear and across the beautiful valley to the front. The kitchen was well fitted with dishwasher and extensive utensils. They even supplied dishwasher tablets, just one of the little attentions to details we weren't expecting. One double and a good size single bedroom, all nicely fitted out. Yes, the wet room took a little getting use to, but we were not there to stay in our cabin - there was far too much to cram in.

Our best investment was to hire a golf buggy to get around. The valley is quite hilly. This fun mode of transport made getting around quick and easy. We would not have got to all the children's activities on time with out it. Plus the children loved it.

Eating out was good and whilst not cheap, the quality and choice was to a high standard. We dined in three of the four eateries where all the staff were friendly and keen to please.

Bluestone made a big effort for Halloween. There was a spooky film night, Halloween party with pumpkin making all ending with a parade around the lake with The Grand Wizard.

Most of the Children's events were extra, but we were on holiday and were looking to make the most of our stay. We were impressed with the simple supervised treks in the woods with the children; bug hunting, making a fire and toasting marsh mellows etc. We also booked the Battlefield Live. Paint balling in the woods but without the paint This was great fun if not a little muddy.

Most of the staff were young and were a credit to the management who had obviously trained them well.

A short trip to the spa was a welcome and relaxing break. The contrast from all the running around to the tranquillity of the treatment rooms was just what the grownups needed. Again the staff were focused on making our stay an enjoyable one.

The Blue Lagoon and sports hall were away from the accommodation, which is where the buggy came in helpful. Every thing was clean and well maintained bearing in mind the amount of through traffic they must have.

The only down side was that the Blue Lagoon was open to the public as well as guests of Bluestone making it at times a little busy. This however did not spoil our enjoyment of the facilities.

We all enjoyed our stay and will defiantly try and fit in another visit sometime next year. Well recommended.
