On initial attempt to set up the Sony X Series 1060 walkman to connect to my XP laptop, the Sony bundled software failed to detect the device automatically although the Windows was able to detect it. The troubleshooting section in Sony's manual does not offer help on this issue and so I had to google it for the solution. Once this issue is solved, copying the files is straightforward by using the Sony software "Content Transfer", simply by dragging the files onto it. The other Sony software "Media Manager" for managing the album on the device is a bit clunky and slow. I am really impressed with the excellent screen quality. The standard earphone included in the package produces good quality of sound. Battery life seems decent too as I have used it over 3 days (2 hour each day) and the battery is still strong. I still haven't found a way to create a playlist, so I have to playback the songs by album or artist. The FM radio received signal quality is also excellent but the device does not display the radio station information, only the frequency.
