I also wish I had read this site before signing up wth eCar. I needed to drive my mum's car very soon after taking out the policy and it did not cover me to do so, so I cancelled it within the 'cooling off' period and got fully comprehensive with another company. That was nearly two months ago and I have still not had my money back. They owe me nearly £600 and although they do respond to all my emails, they just give excuses, the latest being that an internal audit is delaying the payment. If I do not get the refund within the next seven days I will be contacting Watchdog, trading standards and anyone else I can think of!

    I'm sorry to hear about your predicament. I too am awaiting a refund from this company and have also been told that they cannot tell me when my refund will be made due to 'Technical Problems' and an internal audit.
    This sort of behaviour is not only unprofessional and unethical but downright WRONG!!
    I have emailed the Financial Ombudsman with a copy of their emails and expressed my absolute disgust and am now awaiting their reply. - Good Luck!
