Thorough analysis, ease of use for non-acountants, VAT approved, Inland Revenue approved. Superb management and accounting control. Numerous reports and profit analysis.
It's still an accounts package. There are better ways to spend your life . . . .
Upgrading to Intuit Quickbooks PRO 2002 accounting software from Pro 2001 was totally painless. The relatively minor improvements certainly are not worth having to pay almost the full price all over again for it so I would recommend that you don't - unless the few changes from QB Pro 2001 are important to you. Once you have accepted that they don't tell you the truth about the 'ease' of use, and you have committed yourself to using this program, you will be happy you made the change. Compared to TAS and Sage Accountant, QB Pro is exactly what they say on the box. But that doesn't mean it's easy. You have to focus and labour hard to get used to this program in the time you have. By the nature of this type of program, you have to learn fast and learn accurately. When you upgrade your accounts package, by the nature of the task, you are under pressure to start with - so best advice is to make sure you really need to change at all before moving. If then, you positively have to move, then avoid TAS, Sage and others and go for QB Pro. It'll be less of a battle than the others. Interestingly, numerous extras make this the 'sexiest' of the pack - if any accounting software can be qualified in that way ! It's good, but it makes you work albeit less than the others.
