I URGE ANYONE LOOKING FOR A MORTGAGE NOT TO GO WITH NORTHERN ROCK !!!!!
These unscrupulous rip off merchants have absolutely no morals or sympathy for anyone that they offered a 100% mortgage to.

I have a 3 year fixed rate taken out in 2006, part loan part mortgage. I now want to move house with my "portable" mortgage but northern rock are not prepared to lend us the money or port it over. The other sting in the ass is that even if I do port it over to another mortgage with Northern rock, or switch provider or leave to another mortgage, they will increase my payments to 8% above the standard variable rate. So not only will you not lend the money but you will increase my payments by another £300 for the trouble - Nice!! Thanks Northern rock for getting me into this mess and doing absolutely nothing to help !!
