What an awful bank. In the last year I have found them very difficult to deal with. If you don't have your account reference number with you (not your account number) impossible to communicate with them over the phone.
I recently had a chq book (the fourth one they've sent me in the last year even though I've used about 3 chqs) 'intercepted' in the post. £8000 was taken from my bank account and I'm still trying to get it back. I happened to be transferring some money from this account and it couldn't be taken as the chq was going to be cleared that day. I informed them I hadn't written the chq and it was fraud so not to pay it. They let the chq clear. Later that day they told me it would be refunded overnight. A week later they've now told me that it was too late in the day to stop the chq and I need to sign a declaration stating that it was fraud which they are going to post me - in the middle of a postal strike. I'm getting married in 3 weeks and this money is to pay for my wedding. Finally I think I've got them to agree to fax me the form. Don't go anywhere near them.
