In order to have my hernia repaired in a 'clean' hospital I, privately, spent a small fortune have it repaired by laporoscope. All was fine until a few days later I noticed that the swelling in certain parts was not lessening so called BUPA for advice. The upshot was that they referred me to my consultant who was a practising NHS surgeon. After spending all that money I ended up in an NHS hospital for further treatment. I wouldn't touch BUPA with a barge pole after that experience
