They made my life a misery for 14 months. I got locked into a contract through bare faced lying by their customer service and I have finally managed to escape this year.

I am sorry that I can not go into too much detail because I would be here all day. To sumarize, they over charged me several times and then refused to refund me immediately. To compensate for the overcharge they placed me on an exclusive discounted contract that the telephone staff said I could cancel at any time with no penalty. The B*****ds locked me into a 12 month contract and denied that they ever said that I could cancel. There was nothing in writing to say I was in the contract but I was asked to pay in excess of £200 when I moved house and could not receieve cable at the new house. They then said I could transfer my account to the new owner of my old house when I moved and then sent me a bill for £205 when I moved. They denied saying that I could transfer the account. Apparently tranfers require the transferee to have lived at the address for more than 6 months. Apparently the Virgin media staff member that had told me this had given me the wrong advise but tough s**t.

For 14 months I have had to deal with rude staff that are ill-advised. Anything they say over the phone will be backtracked on and then the onus is on the customer to prove the conversation. They have never managed to produce telephone recordings when I have asked for them.

Avoid Virgin Media unless you have more time than I did and be prepared to go to small claims court to avoid being ripped off.
