We bought our bed from Dreams just over a year ago and decided against going for 1 of the many matresses they had in the sale and bought a more expensive but better quality Silent Night mattress. After less than a year of sleeping on the mattress and with regular turing, the mattress has dipped considerably and lost it's complete integrity! It has gone from being extremely comfortable to extremely uncomfortable and causes back pain! After eventually managing to get through to Dreams customer services, after spending considerable lenghts of time "On hold" on the telephone, they sent a supposedly independent assessor around to look at the mattress. The guy turned up more than 4 hours late, (after he had rung my partner in the morning to say he would be there by 9am!) poked the mattress a few times and took a few photos, without ever saying a word to my partner! We have now just received a call to say that in the assessors "expert opinion" the dipping has been caused by people sitting on the edge of the mattress and that we are not entitled to a replacement as the damage has been caused by us. They stated is is also caused by lack of turning the mattress frequently! We actually never sit on the edge of the mattress so as not to cause this kind of damage and also we turn it at least once per month!! Regardless, the customer services operator (who seemed apparently to be reading from a script as she kept repeating the same thing over and over again!) insisted that the highly qualified assessor had done his job and that was his assessment. We could of course have another assessment carried out but we would have to incur the cost of that ourselves. When we asked how a mattress, that we had spent a lot of money on, could come to be in this state after less than a year when they should have >10 year guarantee, she simply replied that Dreams had spent a lot of money sending out the assessor, that he was trained to the highest standards and was an expert! Full stop!
So we either put up with the damaged, uncomfortable mattress that we have or we shell out more money for a new mattress! One thing is guarrenteed though - if we do decide to buy a new mattress it will definitely NOT be from Dreams!! Avoid them at all costs!
