I arrived at noon with a family of adults (4 customers).
After waiting for 10 minutes at the bar, the bar staff were still unprepared and changing into their uniforms and trying to find the key to the till.
Eventually I was asked for my order.
The conversation with the barstaff was as follows:
" A pint of lager please"
"Fosters or Carling?"
"Fosters please"
"Sorry we have no Fosters!"
"Make it a Carling"
"Anything else?"
"A medium 'Coke' please"
"Would you like a bottle of Pepsi?"
"That's fine"
"Sorry, we are out of Pepsi"
"I'll stay with the'Coke"
The final two drinks proved to be well within the capabilities of the young lass. I offered a twenty pound note and received all the change in small coins as they had no notes.
I returnedf to the bar to order some food and after a few minutes caught the eye of one of four barmaids crowded around a photograph album.
"Have you a Bar menu?"
"No, I'm sorry! All the prices have changed and we haven't received the new menu yet"
"How do I order?"
"Tell me what you fancy and I can tell you whether we can do it or not"
"Can you do gammon and pineapple?"
"Sorry,we have no pineapple but you can have an egg or wait until a staff member returns from Aldi's"
"Make it gammon and eggs. Is there anything else that you haven't got?"
"No peas, no mushrooms, no..."
"Stop there and give me three BLTs (on a plate if you have any!)"

At no time did I see a senior member of staff. The young barmaids seemed to have arrived and were left to handle the new week's trade without any guidance (except to find that some of the most popular items were not available).
Is this place a joke? Is anyone in charge?
My family's get-together and bar-meal turned into a disaster at Harvesters. What has happened to the place? Should I only visit at peak evening times?
