Warning!!! I had previously been with Admiral car insurance for 18months. The first year was no problem, it was only when i changed my car that i began to have difficulties.

Initially i recieved great customer service although i found it as difficult to understand the strong indian accent as their representative did mine. This led to numerous mistakes, which then led to lies, deciet and theft by admiral. I am now almost £500 OUT OF POCKET AND DESPITE GOING THROUGH THE FINANCIAL OMBUSMAN HAVE HAD NO APOLOGY, COMPENSATION OR EVEN A COURTEOUSY CALL!!!

I would urge anyone considering taking out insuarnce with admiral to think carefully about if they would be prepared to take legal action when admiral prove their incompetence.

I have been told that I was insured (I requested verbal confirmation very clearly) then, afew weeks later i recieved a letter stating I had not been insured for that period due to 'admin errors'. Admiral then took money from my account without permission, despite stating and promising that this would not be done as the policy was in dispute, money was then refunded to another persons account and has never been explained why. I have not seen this money, nor had any further explanation or response from Admiral despite promises that they would get someone to call me and discuss.

I would happily pay a higher premium and have piece of mind, to be delt with honestly and respectfully. If any lay person behaved as admiral have then they would be facing prosecution. I have since payed out a second annual amount with Privelege - no problems yet!
