OK - our first cruise so we have nothing to compare it with. Read the following accordingly.
Food cannot be faulted. Excellent throughout and service was impeccable although I would prefer NOT to be prompted to mark the comment card "excellent" by the waiter.
Design of the ship, I think, leaves something to be desired. I'm normally pretty good at finding my way around but still, after 6 days, I was confused about where certain rooms were in relation to each other. This wasn't helped by having TWO levels 3 - upper and lower.
Entertainment: This is where QM2 falls down - at the moment. At best it is mediocre and at worst it is just a smidgeon away from being Butlins. The crowning of the "Princess" of the ball - "Could you parade and wave like a princess?" was on a par with Hi-di-Hi. Oh please. Kareoke nights? No thanks - if I wanted that I'd go down to the local pub. The compere for these nightmares was pure Redcoat. "And I'm sure you're all looking forward to the sing-a-long in the Lobby this lunch-time". NO.
Where was the depth of sophistication I was expecting?
The internet connection was pretty poor and the paid for minutes were eaten up mostly waiting for sites to load. Take your own lap-top.
There are 2500 guests on board and Cunard have gone for the Median/Lowest Common Denominator.
