Citibank are in "free fall" - tried to open a saver account, received pin numbers and then the card in just over a week (so far so good).

Firstly one has to activate the card by telephoning Citibank; before speaking to a person one has to enter 16 digit card number and t-pin - first problem; these do not match! 40 minutes later I was able to speak to someone with very poor English language skills, that person could not solve the problem. 24 minutes later another person confirmed that both the card and pins needed to be replaced.

7 days later card and pins replaced, card activated this time after 32 minutes on the telephone. Online registration follows after a long and tortuous route through the website.

Citibank literature clearly states that "you can transfer money into your new account from any bank over the phone using a UK Debit Card" WRONG! This facility is not available!

Citibank online instructions states that money can be transfered online. WRONG! This facility is not available either!

What a shambles this bank is - please be advised to look at those long established banks who know how to get their act together.
