Over all I am very happy with my kitchen... I love it and think it looks great. The kitchen fitters were brilliant. Fast, efficient, clean and made sure every bit of the kitchen was fitted to perfection.

The sales guy who sold us the kitchen seemed ok - not too pushy. However it did get a bit annoying hearing that he had been selling kitchens for 20 years only to realise later on that he failed to advise us correctly about certain things.

The kitchen arrived on time and complete on a Friday. The fitters turned up on Monday morning and were finished by Wednesday evening.

The downside:

The thing that seems to have let KBBC down is their service after they have received your money. I have had to make several calls to chase things up and I am repeatedly told, by various people they will call me back and I am, to date, still chasing things up.

I must warn you - the worktops (I am referring to the wood worktops - not sure about the others) are extremely overpriced. I ended up using another company to supply the worktops and saved £1,200 on the price that KBBC quoted me. Exactly the same wood - exactly the same size. Also beware that apparently if you order a 30mm worktop it's actually 27mm and if you order a 40mm worktop it's actually 37mm.

Also, the sales guy did not show us samples of the worktops nor the handles. I later realised, after going through the paperwork in greater detail that he should have shown us samples. The surveyor that turned up (not on the day that his visit was arranged for and without a phone call to let us know) insisted at a later date that he tried to show us samples and we refused to see them!!!!! - they used this excuse when we asked to return the worktop for being the wrong depth and colour!

We ordered three midi units. The salesman ordered cornicing to go on top. He didn't offer us any other option. He just went ahead and put this down on the order. When the fitters arrived they said the units are too low for cornicing (140cm) and I should have been advised to have worktop put on top of them.

We are waiting to hear if we can get a refund on them too. As per usual, it's taking 2 or 3 phone calls a day to chase things up.

One last thing - appliances are extremely expensive through KBBC. If you don't mind shopping around - do so. We ended up buying better appliances for cheaper. eg. The Baumatic range cooker that was offered to us was priced at £1100. The same cooker online was £749. We went through all the appliances whilst the salesman was there and we were able to see the exact same make and model for a lot cheaper. We therefore ended up buying all our appliances separately.

Not a bad company overall and I am pleased that we have had no major problems just annoying little ones.
