Just had a weatherseal rep visit following a phone call advising that the company was looking for 'feature homes in the area to offer 'free' double glazing. We were number 11 out of 12 for the offer. Interested to hear what that was about. Not free, but after installation, depending on the other properties that had signed up for this offer, I might have received the cost back, after payment. The rep said that I obviously had not understood their sales consultant when she phoned. First some pointless questions to ascertain if we qualified for the offer (proximity to schools, pubs, shops and every other public amenity within 20 minutes radius etc.) 1st quote was £12,004 cash but that would be reduced to £6845 if we took credit via Hitachi. When that was rejected, phoned his boss again and the cost was reduced to £5,500 BUT ONLY IF I SIGNED THERE AND THEN. Was highly suspicious and refused. I did not like the sales pitch especially when he attempted to play my wife off against me. Boss phoned again before he finally left after 2 and half hours. Moral of the story - do not invite them into your home.
