This Travel Lodge is basically run down, dirty, in need of maintenance and redecoration. When we arrived at 1300 we asked if we could leave our bags in the room and were told that the room was ready for us but if we wanted the key before 1500 it would cost us an extra 10 pounds, is this really customer service at it's best.
Parking cost 5 pound for every 24 hours and you get the feeling that your car is secure because of all the cctv cameras, don't be fooled the cameras are there but not working. The lift was out of order and has been for some time and as all rooms are spread over 3 upper floors you can expect to haul your bugs up the stairs. The upholstery in the room was dirty and ripped, we were given 1 towel 3 pillows between the 2 of us and had to ask for more.
The only good part of the stay was Paul McColl the late shift receptionist, he was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and he made the effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible in what is second rate accommodation being run by a company that is also rapidly becoming second rate. We have stayed in many Travel Lodges over the years but this will be our last one.
