The first, last (and only) time we ever used Haart was about 4 years ago when we were looking around the local area to buy a bigger house. We viewed a property for sale through them and put in an offer. When we heard nothing back from them after 3 weeks (!) we rang them to ask what the vendor had said. The agent told us the vendor had turned our offer down but he did not suggest anything about what we could afford nor even bothered to attempt further negotiations.
Some months later we saw the same house up for sale with another agent. The agent told us that the vendor had moved agencies because Haart had not marketed the property at all and he was bitterly disappointed. We told the new agent we had put in an offer and had really wanted the house. She rang the vendor whilst we were in the office and he spoke to us. He seemed gob smacked and told us in all honesty that Haart had never passed on any such offer to him and that if they had, he would have been delighted to have negotiated with us.
As it turned out we went on to rent a property for a year with another independent agent. OK so not quite as bad as what other people have experienced, but even smallish things like this can make the customer never forget and ultimately they have lost us forever as future buyers or sellers.
