We used to have lessons at Bank Farm, until we moved house and bought our own horses, who now live at home.
Origianlly we bought two of the horses from Bank Farm..Some people might remember 'Dave' A dun cob, and 'Billy' A bay pony.
Dave's feet were in shockingly bad condition. They were boxy, and Dave was very foot sore. Both horses had terrible teeth, and the Equine Dentist commented on this.
In my opinion, the riding school does not have enough grazing for the amount of horses they keep there, and the stabling really isnt good ebough for the hard working equines there, many horses spend the night in satlls, tied up. I also think Bank Farm allow very inexperienced riders on some of their horses, Billys mouth is permenatly scarred from the amount of pulling and shoving he was given.
Yes their prices are cheap, but this is reflected in the care for their horses. The lessons are always jam-packed and crowded.
However they did teach my sister and myself to ride, and we always learnt alot there.
Sdaly, it only takes an experienced horseowner to go there and see the some of the damage they are doig to alot of their horses.
If anyones interested, Billy and Dave are living out a happy retirement in the field, in return for a long life of teaching choildren to ride.
