purchased a tv in jan and afetr being in store for two hours finally found what we wanted, purchased a sony 46" tv and samsung surround sound. the tv was exdisplay. when we had paid for the goods they then told us that they could not find the base as we were mounting on wall we felt it was ok and they offered us a used ex display wall bracket. we took products home and mounted them. four months later we moved house and unfortunately were not able to mount on wall Due to lack of space and fire place then realised without base we could not stand tv up, so rang store thinking they might help. when rang number it diverts to a call centre in sheffield, spoke to a lady who said she would put me through to store wa put through but was told manager was busy and would call me back this never happened. several weeks later i again had to go through call centre to be put through to store and was advised that they were busy but manager would call back in a few days. the manager (jonathon) did ring back with a big attitude and basically said because i accepted their second hand wall bracket it was my fault but he would try to come to some kind of arrangement with me and would ring ne back, that call never came i then rang back again and was told by wendy at sheffield that a person from the medics team would call me back that day again that never happened so i called the call centre back again(all at a cost to me) and this time asked to speak to a manager after forty minutes i finally got to speak to a mr richard davidson who said that basically again because i had accepted their used wall bracket they were not willing to help he he offered no help and was quite adamant that i should have not purchased the product if i had been concerned i did explain that we had been at the retail park for 5 hours and were tired and hungry and had been in their store for two hours and also the purchase had already been paid for when they came out and told us that they could not find the stand he was rude and argumentitive and i felt that as a manager of a call centre he should have taken on my complaints a bit more seriously i have now got a telly i cant watch and sony want £150 for a new stand their used wallbracket is worth approximately in its used condition £30 -£40 so to say we were ripped off is an understatement. i would never buy another product from currys ever again and i would advise anyone who purchases from them that they make sure they are fully satisfied before they leave the shop as they are cowboys and cant believe a store as big as theirs can get away with this shoddy service
